Day 2 - Upington and Augrabies Falls
We arrive into Upington and the Augrabies Falls - a land of contrasting landscapes. Augrabies, a Hottentot name meaning “place of great noise” describes the thundering roar as the falls plummet into a wide ravine. At Upington we pick up clients joining the tour from Cape Town and continue our journey through to the Augrabies Falls, stopping off at a winery where we have the opportunity of acquainting ourselves with some of the best wines in the North-Western Cape. After our wine tasting tour or white water rafting adventure we depart for the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park (Kalahari Gemsbok National Park) wedged in the north-west corner of South Africa between Namibia and Botswana. This is semi-desert area and one of the largest unspoiled ecosystems in the world. The next three evenings we stay in campsites in the Park listening to the night sounds of Africa.
